DOYLESTOWN, PA — Three new innovative projects aimed at the district’s special education students are making their debut this school year through grant funding provided by the Central Bucks Education Foundation.
Learning Without Limits
Thanks to an anonymous donor, the foundation is offering “Learning Without Limits Tutoring,” a grant-funded program providing 10 free tutoring sessions to students in CBSD Elementary Schools who have a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Each enrolled student will receive one-on-one, customized instruction with qualified tutors with flexible scheduling and virtual/in-person options.
Sensory Room at Linden
With support from a foundation grant, special education teacher Lauren Wooley has partnered with vendors and district staff to transform an available space into a new Sensory Room. Designed to help students regulate, refocus, and engage their senses, the room features tools such as a vibrating chair, which provides grounding sensory input, and a sequined wall that offers both tactile and visual stimulation. “The Sensory Room has become an essential resource, helping many students self-regulate and return to class ready to learn,” said Wooley.

EmpathEd Technology Licenses
The foundation also invested $15,000 to purchase 500 site licenses for EmpathEd, a digital platform that equips teachers with tools to better support neurodivergent learners. By fostering inclusion, creativity, and problem-solving, the program empowers students to succeed academically while feeling more welcomed and understood.
The Education Foundation plans to announce its 2025–26 grant cycle awards on October 1. To learn more or to support the foundation’s mission, visit cbeducationfoundation.org .
