DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks Education Foundation has announced the distribution of 12 new grants totaling $16,674 to the district’s teachers.
The grants are supporting programs and initiatives ranging from engineering and entrepreneurship to history, art, and emotional wellness.
Grants have been awarded to the following schools:
- At Tohickon Middle School, students will gain real-world business experience through the Young Entrepreneur project, managing and operating a school store.
- At CB South High School, a new 3D printer will bring business and engineering concepts to life, allowing students to prototype product design, develop ideas, and understand the manufacturing process.
- At Groveland Elementary, a grant will empower students’ voices by funding video production equipment to script, film, and edit their own news, interviews, and documentaries.
- At Lenape Middle School, students will collaborate with the Doylestown Historical Society to design and paint panels for a restoration mural, which was damaged in a fire, therefore celebrating community heritage through public art.
- At Tamanend Middle School, two grants will support the “Bringing Shakespeare to Life and “Ladies of History” programs to welcome historical figures and “Macbeth” through interactive performances. Students at Pine Run Elementary will meet authors virtually through the “Book Break” program, featuring 11 online author visits.
- The Art Department at CB West High School will enhance its instruction with 4 new large easels to support both beginner and Advanced Placement art students.
- A new CB STEM Student Chapter will unite students from all three high schools to build state-of-the-art engineering projects, boosting their chances of succeeding in STEM competitions statewide. The grant will support chapter registration and equipment.
- At CB West High School, drone technology will be explored through the purchase of first-person-view drones for STEM-related projects.
- At Linden Elementary, a kid-safe cardboard cutter will bring STEM ideas to life.
- A grant for Doyle Elementary will provide resources to help students build self-regulation and mindfulness skills in a dedicated sensory environment.
